Commission Chair: It Does Not Affect The Commission’s Work

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Chairperson of The National Commission For Persons With Disabilities Nalini Bethel says the reallocation of twenty-five thousand dollars in funding is no cause for concern.

The revelation coming during the tabling of government’s mid-year budget where it was revealed that the funds were reallocated from the commission to assist in payment for the memorial of the late Obie Wilchcombe last October.

With the move being criticized by the public and some opposition members, Bethel says the work continues.

Bethel also dismissed talk that the commission does not have the resources it needs. She says even now work is being done in the family islands.
