NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The national security minister insisting police take a closer look at security challenges at the magistrates’ court complex.

Freedom was short-lived for a man, who spent less than 72 hours on the run, after officers say he escaped from the South Street Magistrates’ Court Complex.

25-year-old London Rahming’s escape came hours after he was sentenced on Friday to 15 months in prison.

National Security Minister Wayne Munroe weighing in saying police will address the issue.

On Friday, Rahming admitted to violating bail for attempted murder and possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger.

Rahming cut off his ankle bracelet and damaged the tracking device in the process.

Rahming escaped from the cell block where police were able to take him to The Bahamas Department of Corrections.

Minister Munroe says he has no doubt the investigation surrounding the escape will be thorough.
