NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused of the murder of former FNM MP Donald Saunders will remain in custody after the Court of Appeal rejected his latest attempt at release.

Twenty-five-year-old Jaico Choute was denied bail in August for his own safety.

He failed to have the decision overturned during an appeal hearing today.

Prosecutors allege that Choute and another man robbed Rags Bar in Gambier of $650 on March 27.

Saunders, the former Free National Movement representative for Tall Pines, was fatally shot when the men allegedly tried to rob him.
