NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Long Islanders grateful for the influx of visitors for the Long Island regatta, as races wrapped up on Saturday.

Long Island Member of Parliament Adrian Gibson is at the center of controversy over an investigation into his time as chairman of the Water and Sewerage Corporation. But his focus this weekend: a good time and the revival of his island’s economy.

Other notable names and faces in the crowd of natives and visitors include former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham who was enjoying the sights and sounds.

Opposition and Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard also showing up to support the return of regatta.

The races are done and the winners have taken home the cash and prizes, but the food and fun continues as this island records a successful return to regatta.

It’s impact on this islands economy, expected to be felt for weeks and months to come.
