NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In just a week’s time The Bahamas will host the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting, after months of planning. But how much do Bahamians know or care about CARICOM?

While those regional leaders are geared up and ready to tackle regional issues like climate change and Haiti, do Bahamians care?

An Our News poll on Instagram shows that 41 percent of Bahamians care about CARICOM, 35 percent of residents are not interested in CARICOM while 24 percent of participants have no knowledge of CARICOM.

On Twitter the conversation continued, with 56 percent of voters noting they care about CARICOM, while 44 percent did not.
