NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Year 8 of the Don’t Blink Home Run Derby In Paradise showed continued growth and expansion for the event.

The 2025 edition built on the reputation as one of the Caribbean’s premier baseball showcase events.

Beyond the power display, the event highlighted the business of baseball, featuring a strategic partnership with the Players Alliance aimed at expanding access, education, and opportunity for young talent.

The collaboration continues to provide resources, visibility, and networking for aspiring players, while strengthening The Bahamas’ role in the global baseball pipeline.

On the field – the home runs still matter, but not as much as its role as a de facto All-Star weekend.

Rhema Collins and Denika Lightbourne are making it look fun in South Florida and the FIU Panthers are becoming a winning program.

Collins had 16 points and a career high 16 rebounds, Lightbourne had 16 points on 7-9 shooting in just 20 minutes, and the Panthers won their fourth straight game, 83-60 over the FAU Owls.

On the season, Collins has emerged as one of conference USA’s top players, averaging just over 20 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game, with 5 double-doubles already this year. Lightbourne is averaging around 11 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Both players saw limited minutes at their previous stops – Collins played sparingly at Ole Miss, and Lightbourne at Dayton – now they thrive in much larger roles at FIU.
