NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas National Trust premiered their short documentary film titled, “Conchious Movement”, Thursday night, and some of the featured fisher-people from East Grand Bahama flew in for event.

Shervin Tate, a fishing guide and fisherman in Sweetings Cay, East Grand Bahama. Tate travelled to New Providence, joined by some other fishing industry members from his area, for the BNT’s premiere of their short film, “Conchious Movement”.

The film showcases the BNT’s East Grand Bahama conch ranching project, and the relationships created with the community.

BNT’s Executive Director, Lakeisha Anderson-Rolle says conchservation in a broader sense has been underway for the past decade.

Tate shares some fishermen didn’t have their standards of training certification and watchkeeping or captain’s license prior to the BTS’s arrival.
