NEW YORK, U.S.A. – Come Wednesday night VJ Edgecombe will become the latest Bahamian drafted into the NBA, a historic moment for the Bimini native and for Bahamas basketball.

Edgecombe discussed the gravity of the moment at his pre-draft media availability earlier today.

The dynamic guard out of Baylor is expected to hear his name called early on draft night, making him the fourth Bahamian selected within the last decade.

Track & Field

Anthaya Charlton had an NCAA season that announced her presence on the world stage. The next logical step – head to that world stage and compete against the pros.

Charlton has reportedly signed to preeminence sports group, marking the end of her collegiate eligibility–and the dawn of a new chapter in her promising track and field career.

Charlton delivered a breakout 2025 season for the Florida Gators, setting multiple school and national records.

She ran a blistering 10.87 seconds in the 100m–The Bahamas’ second-fastest mark ever–and set a new Bahamian indoor long jump record at 6.98m, the second-best in NCAA indoor history.

Charlton earned multiple All-American honors across both events while anchoring Florida’s All-American 4×100m relay.

Now turned professional, attention now shifts to the World Athletics Championships this fall in Tokyo.
