FNM Leader Calls for Unity After Leadership Race

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A newly elected Michael Pintard greeted a room of supporters in the Grand Ballroom at the Baha Mar Convention Center with loud and exciting fanfare Saturday night hours after a decisive victory.

Pintard defeated former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis with 483 votes against Dr. Minnis’ 163 votes.

His speech focusing in part on unifying the party divided ahead of  elections.

Noticeably absent was Dr. Minnis and his core supporters who left after the results.

In his speech, Pintard spoke directly to the former FNM leader.

Re-elected party chairman Dr. Duane Sands came out with 431 votes against Elsworth Johnson’s 221 votes.

Sands telling the convention while the goal is untiy, the real mission is to inpire hope.

East Grand Bahama MP Kwasi Thompson used the convention stage to share the message that  there is nothing greater than a united FNM.
