GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – As coverage on remembering hurricane dorian continues, three years later Our News gets an update on a well known business in Grand Bahama that was severely impacted by the monster storm. The general manager says although things are not what they use to be they are still pressing on.

Dolly Madison has been a part of the Grand Bahama community since the 1960’s

It’s just one of a few hardware stores on the island that provides lots of needed essentials. But following hurricane Dorian’s passing three years ago, General Manager James Rolle says following the storm it became difficult to provide for the community in the way it used to as the storm took its entire inventory.

He says flood waters busted the store’s entrance and once Rolle got inside, he says he was not prepared for what he saw.

He says nothing was salvaged and the store had to be cleaned up.

The store still managed to provide for the community from a temporary site only bringing in basic necessities.

Three years later Dolly Madison is now in a smaller portion of what use to be its furniture store.
