GRAND BAHAMA – We now feature a Grand Bahamian woman who has been appointed to an international leadership role. In this report she explains her duties and what this will mean for the country moving forward. Italia Hall reports.

For decades, women have been calling for greater female representation in leadership roles.

Now in the 21st century, it appears as if that call has been answered as we see each and every day women empowered to lead in various sectors.

Most recently here in The Bahamas, Chief Councillor for the City of Freeport Council Frazette Gibson was appointed as chairperson for the Commonwealth Women in Local Government Network, a role she calls, an honor.

She recently traveled to Asia where she was able to speak in the capacity of her new role for the first time.

And she shares why she’s committed to “doing the work”.

Reporting for Our News, I’m Italia Hall.
