GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Over the years, the state of the Freeport Garden Resort and other buildings has declined due to hurricanes, lack of maintenance, and other adverse conditions.

Now the assistant city manager at the Grand Bahama Port Authority is calling on building owners to help keep the city presentable.

Assistant City Manager Renardo Karageorgiou says the GBPA has worked with Social Services and the Ministry of Grand Bahama to help residents who were still living in the southern side of the building.

He says over the past six years, the GBPA has demolished over 30 buildings, actively working along with the government on the issue.
