Glover-Rolle: Figure in Public Service Audit “Changed”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The issue of overpayments for some financial officers in the Public Service has been referred to the Ministry of Finance, according to Minister of State for the Public Service Pia Glover-Rolle. This as she tells reporters the figure in the internal audit into the Public Service kept “changing along the way,” and she is not currently aware of the final figure.

In May, Glover-Rolle told reporters an internal report revealed some public officers made unauthorized adjustments to their salaries and overpaid themselves by $4 million.

Members of The Bahamas Public Service Union have refuted the claims and have demanded a public apology from Glover-Rolle.
