Grenada: Steady Increase In Dengue Fever Cases

GRENADA – Grenada’s Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shawn Charles says the number of dengue fever cases are continuously on the rise.

GRENADA – Grenada’s Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shawn Charles says the number of dengue fever cases are continuously on the rise.

Based on data acquired over the previous three weeks, Shawn says there has been a consistent increase in cases.

The data show is weeks 18 and 19, there were 20 and 39 reported cases respectively, while week 20 recorded a total of 79 new cases and two hospitalisations.

He says “This represents a 100 percent increase from the previous week, and points to what can only be described as a steady increase in the outbreak.”
