GUYANA – Guyana’s oil production has surpassed 650 million barrels in under six years, and industry leaders say the country is just getting started.

ExxonMobil reports that three offshore projects are currently producing 660,000 barrels per day, with a fourth, Yellowtail, now online.

By the end of 2025, production is expected to reach nearly 800,000 barrels daily, and future projects could push output past 1.4 million barrels per day, positioning Guyana as the world’s largest per-capita crude producer.

The government says oil revenues are funding major development initiatives, including free university tuition, new hospitals, roads, and bridges, with annual earnings projected to approach $10 billion by the end of the decade.
