HAITI – Around 50 suspected gang members killed this week after attacking the coastal town of Archaie Haiti, with at least a dozen drowning when their boat capsized.

Most were reportedly killed by police. Others drowned trying to deliver ammunition to gangs.

The attack, led by a gang coalition, began Monday with gunmen burning homes and cars.

The rise in gang violence follows a U.N.-backed Kenyan mission aimed at controlling the escalating crisis.
