Hield’s Hot Streak Continues as Pacers Win in DC. Ayton Gets Hurt Early

WASHINGTON, DC, USA – Bahamian NBA star Buddy Hield helped his Indiana Pacers secure their second win of the season with a big game against the Washington Wizards, powering the Pacers to a 127-117 victory against Washington.


The veteran guard scored 25 points on 10-17 shooting while going 5-9 from the 3-point line. It was a big game all around for the Pacers as center Myles Turner led the team in scoring and rebounding with 27 and 10 respectively while dominating the paint on defense swatting 5 shots. Young point guard Tyrese Halliburton scored 25 points and dished out 10 assists. 

Bradley Beal of the Wizards scored 31 points, pulled down 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists while Kristaps Porzingis scored 22 and grabbed 6 rebounds. 

The win improves the Pacers’ record to 2-4 on the season. 

The Pacers are in the hometown of Jay-Z and Biggie tonight and Monday to take on the sputtering Brooklyn Nets. Both games start at 7:30 pm. 

Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns went down early in a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Bahamian big man hyperextended his ankle after playing only 8 minutes in the first quarter after scoring 4 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. More information about his injury is forthcoming. The Suns would go on to record a hearty victory against the Pels with swingman Mikal Bridges scoring 27 points, grabbing 2 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Pels scoring guard CJ McCollum led the team with 17 points and 9 assists. 

The Suns will take on the Houston Rockets next in Phoenix on Sunday.
