NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Opposition Leader Michael Pintard and Prime Minister Philip Davis got into a back and forth over who knew what, when, as it relates to Bahamas Power and Light’s fuel hedge program.

This comes after it was recently revealed that then-BPL CEO Whitney Heastie wrote a six-page letter to Works Minister Alfred Sears in October 2021, detailing the program’s plans to save the Bahamian people on fuel charges.

In the House of Assembly on Thursday, the PM defended Sears, claiming that there were no recommendations shared in the letter, rather it “settled the circumstances the hedging was entered into”.
