NASSAU, BAHAMAS – If you hope to own a home someday, you may be one step closer to reaching your goal as the Teachers and Salaried Workers Cooperative Credit Union Limited has set aside $25 million for mortgages for affordable homes.

It comes by way of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Housing and the Teachers and Salaried Workers Cooperative Credit Union Limited.

General Manager Byron Miller says the funds will assist around 100 Bahamians in the capital and on the Family Islands.

Housing Minister Jobeth Coleby-Davis says while the ministry cannot dictate who people should do business with, she did say this provides another option.

She stressed the equal opportunity available for all Family Islanders.
