How Are West Grand Bahama Residents Feeling?

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Wednesday, November 29 makes one week since the Progressive Liberal Party won the West Grand Bahama and Bimini seat with more than a thousand votes. 

The Progressive Liberal Party’s Kingsley Smith won the by-election for the West Grand Bahama and Bimini seat with 2,150 votes, a landslide victory for the PLP. The Free National Movement’s candidate Bishop Ricardo Grant received 1,276 votes.

Coalition of Independents Leader Lincoln Bain walked away with some 307 votes while independent candidate Daquan Swain received 28 votes and independent candidate Ternielle Burrows received four votes.

But as for how West Grand Bahama residents feel about their new member of parliament elect; there are mixed views.

And she adds that history shows that the governing party usually win by-elections

Resident Elice Higgs says overall the by-election was peaceful and she is happy with the results as she says the member of parliament elect will take care of the constituency.
