NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamian basketball star and WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones was stuck in Russia for a bit once that country decided to invade Ukraine, but many may wonder why Jones was in Russia.

During the WNBA off-season she plays for the National Bosnian Team, and now she wants to clear the air on that.

Sasha Lightbourne tells us more.

Jones recently came home for a bit of sun, sand, and sea. It was the first time she had been home in a long time but was necessary because she had to get her U.S. visa renewed.

Before coming home she was in Russia playing for the National Bosnian Team as she regularly does during the WNBA offseason and she wanted to clear the air about her citizenship.

Jones explained that playing for the National Bosnian team puts her in a different financial bracket than many others.
