EXUMA, BAHAMAS – From June 11th, residents in some parts of Exuma have had to deal with flood water settled into their yards, roads and for some even their homes.

Roker’s Point Exuma resident, Ericka Harris says weeks later and many residents are still being negatively impacted by the issue.

Harris says the past few weeks have been particularly difficult for residents who have to traverse the contaminated, foul-smelling water, others have even cut makeshift roads to leave their homes.

Now she says there were pumps set up in different areas in hopes of mitigating the issue and while some areas have been relieved of the high water levels, others have not been so fortunate. She says the situation is even more concerning now that it is the middle of hurricane season.
