UNITED STATES – Iran has fired missiles at U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq, marking its first major response after American bombers hit Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.

According to Qatari officials, several missiles were aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, a key U.S. military installation in the region. However, all of the missiles were intercepted. No injuries were reported, and authorities have confirmed that the airspace remains secure.

Iran has claimed that the number of missiles fired matched the number of bombs dropped by the U.S. The retaliatory strike was broadcast live on Iranian state television, complete with music and banners declaring it a “mighty response” to what they describe as U.S. aggression.

Meanwhile, rockets also struck the Ain al-Assad base in Iraq. A senior Iraqi official confirmed the strike to international media outlets, although the full extent of the damage remains unclear at this time.

This escalation highlights rising tensions in the region as both sides brace for the potential of further conflict.
