MIAMI, FLORIDA – Two hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars – that’s the difference between Jazz Chisholm’s salary request and the final number arbiters decided the Marlins would pay their star center fielder.

Chisolm will be paid just over $2.6 million, rather than his $2.9 million request for the upcoming season.

This was the first offseason that Chisholm was eligible for arbitration in his MLB career after a salary of approximately $750,000 last season.

An all-star in 2022 at second base, Chisholm shifted to centerfield in 2023 and hit .250 with 19 home runs and 51 RBI.

The biggest question of course – is health. Chisholm has missed 157 games over the last two seasons with various ailments.

The Marlins will also enter arbitration with all-star second baseman Luis Arraez so it’ll interesting to see how that one plays out by the numbers.
