NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Junkanoo, the most incredible show on earth, is set to return to the streets of Nassau this Monday morning with the annual “Because He Lives” community parade.

Junkanooers and fans will flock to the streets this Easter Monday for an early morning celebration in remembrance of Christ’s crucifixion, death, and resurrection, before his ascension to heaven.

Parade organizers now have the green light to return to the streets and resurrect the parade after more than two years of lockdowns and restrictions.

Committee Chairman Rev. William Thompson invites the public to participate and says the parade, which usually signals the start of the Junkanoo season, will also pay respect to those who died during the pandemic.

Co-chair and Saxon Superstar Chairman, Toby Austin, is eager to see the turnout and says he anticipates many participants and fans.
