NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A local pastor is speaking out after a man was gunned down less than a mile from his Kemp Road Church and only minutes before Sunday service.

Kemp Road Ministries Senior Pastor Dr. Ivan Butler says he heard the gunshots, that claimed the life of Cooper’s Terrace resident Mario Brown.

The surveillance video obtained by Our News shows a silver car pulling up and three men jumping out.

The trio standing outside appeared to spot the car coming.

Two of them started running from the scene.

The victim, who Our News understands is Mario Brown, tried to get away on a motorcycle.

But he couldn’t outrun the gunmen who unleashed a hail of bullets as Brown lay on the ground dying.

Pastor Butler says he knows the victim’s family and even visited their home.

Butler had this to say to the grieving family.

Butler has served as pastor of the local church for more than four decades.

Over the years, the church has been active in the community building bonds with Kemp Road residents.

The Kemp Road community has seen its fair share of crime over the years.

But Butler says it’s far from a dangerous community.
