NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Another video is circulating showing Coalition of Independents Leader Lincoln Bain and followers questioning Haitian nationals in the country – the second time on record Bain has taken it upon himself to question people he and his group deem suspect.

Our News spoke with the activist, who is sharing his reasons for approaching Haitian nationals, as he calls on government to step in and fix what he calls an immigration crisis.

Bain says a Bahamian woman complained that immigrants were throwing garbage in her yard, but after complaining to authorities, she claims the issue was not resolved. As a result, Bain claims the woman reached out to him and that’s when he stepped in to investigate the situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently released a statement reminding people that no Bahamian or non-national should stop, surrender, or allow themselves to be questioned or detained by any person, unless the person has identified themselves as an authorized law enforcement officer.

He claims he’s not going around looking for Haitian nationals or any issues at all, saying Bahamians are reaching out for his assistance.

Bain says the immigration situation in the country is getting out of control and he’s calling on government agencies to do their job.
