NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jurors have acquitted a 37-year-old man accused of raping a family friend following a trial before Justice Renae McKay.

Prosecutors alleged that Bertram Frazer raped the 19-year-old woman in the back seat of his Kia Sorento SUV on January 21, 2024

The alleged sexual assault happened while Frazer, who’s married with children, was attending a 39th birthday party for the alleged victim’s mother.

Frazer did not deny having sex with the woman, but said that she panicked and made up the rape claim after her mother caught them.

All nine jurors found Frazer not guilty after deliberating for an hour.

He was represented by public defenders Stanley Rolle and Danielle Kemp.
