NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 28-year-old Exuma man has been charged with murder after a shooting on the island left a man on bail dead.

Prosecutors said Alcot Fox is responsible for the November 10 murder of Malik Fernander, who was waiting trial for two murders and an attempted murder that stemmed from a 2018 shooting in Pinewood Gardens.

Fernander had moved to  Exuma from New Providence to work in the construction field months before he was found shot dead through a track road in Rolleville.

Fox was denied bail when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

He returns to court in March.
