NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is being held without bail after he was charged with a double shooting that left a man dead and another injured.

Twenty-one-year-old Junior Norvil is accused of the murder of Cameron Bannister and the attempted murder of Cassius Turnquest.

According to police, on June 10 the pair were riding a golf cart on Munnings Street in Harbour Island when they were ambushed by a gunman.

Prosecutors say Norvil planned and carried out the shooting with others.

He was not required to enter pleas to charges of murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and Norvil returns to court on August 21 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
