NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has overturned the convictions of a woman who was convicted of her boyfriend’s murder and armed robbery in 2016.

Raquel Johnson was sentenced to 28 years for the murder of ZNS radio personality and 10 years for his armed robbery.

Johnson admitted in her police interview that she had lured Scott Richards to Bonefish Pond for him to be robbed.

Richards was allegedly killed by another man, who is serving a 48-year sentence.

Appeal Court justices found that prosecutors had failed to prove that Johnson had agreed to an armed robbery or murder.

They substituted the armed robbery conviction with one of robbery.

It now remains for Johnson to be resentenced for the lesser charge.
