NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who escaped from the lockup at the Magistrates Court Complex last September has pleaded guilty.

Twenty-five-year-old London Rahming sparked an islandwide manhunt on September 23, 2022, after he walked out of the cells at the court complex. Earlier that day, Rahming had been sentenced to 15 months in prison for violating the condition of his attempted murder bail by cutting off his ankle monitor.

Officers at the cell block did not realize that Rahming was missing until they were loading detainees onto the bus to take them to the prison.

Following a manhunt, police arrested Rahming at Hampton Street on September 25.
Rahming changed his plea to guilty before his trial began before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt Thursday.

She has postponed sentencing at the request of Rahming’s lawyer, Bjorn Ferguson.
