NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Members of the Free National Movement showed up in droves Wednesday night,  as word spread quickly of former Tall Pines MP Don Saunders death.

His former parliamentary colleague, now FNM Party Leader Michael Pintard in a solemn statement said “They’re trusting the system to solve the crime.”

Saunders served as deputy house speaker in the last Minnis administration and more recently as party deputy chairman.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis says he made positive contributions to his party and in government.

And he says his contributions, while sometimes premature, were always thorough.

Former Southern Shores MP Frankie Campbell shared a constituency border. He reflected on first meeting Saunders, as a young police officer back in the 1990s.

Former cabinet minister and  North Abaco MP Darren Henfield summed him up as “never settling for the status quo.”
