NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell reflecting on the legacy of Mikhail Gorbachev who died at the age of 91 this week.

He was the first and only president of the Soviet Union.

Russian news agencies reporting that Gorbachev, who is credited for helping end the cold war without bloodshed but failed to prevent the collapse of the Soviet Union, died on Tuesday.
