NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A drainage system should have been put in place before construction on 40 homes in Pinecrest Subdivision, according to a Senior Engineer in the Ministry of Works.

Kristina Dragovich tells us more.

Senior Engineer for Civil Design in the Ministry of Works, Henry Moxey, explains although Pinecrest is still considered an ‘unfinished’ area, flooding is nothing new.

Moxey says otherwise.

Now, Moxey notes the ministry is working closely with the developer to use an alternative to drainage wells in the area, due to the proximity of wetlands.

Finished homes in the subdivision are expected to be sold for less than $200,000.
