ABACO, BAHAMAS – With no substantial police station in Abaco, National Security Minister Wayne Munroe stressing the need for an appropriate station that will serve as the new headquarters.

The island’s divisional headquarters was destroyed four years ago during Hurricane Dorian and with big plans slated for the economic rebound on Abaco comes the need for more policing, which also means there needs to be proper infrastructure.

Munroe noting that additional manpower could soon be on the way, but he’s encouraging young Abaconians to step forward and become officers…

As for the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the national security minister says plans are in the works to acquire a coastal radar for Marsh Harbour as well as a proposed defense force base in Cooper’s Town to facilitate those officers.
