NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A teacher shortage over in Abaco continues at several public schools. Director of Education Marcellus Taylor spoke with me on the issue saying the ministry is addressing the shortage adding the challenge may exist for a while.

The education director says one of the issues is that most teachers do not want to relocate to family islands adding that proper housing in Abaco makes it even more difficult.

However, Taylor says the ministry is doing its part to remediate the situation.

Taylor says they are currently in the process of redesigning the school based timetable.
