NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hundreds of students got their time to shine last night as they took over Bay Street for the annual junior Junkanoo parade.

It was excitement from the start as six pre-shcools took over Bay showcasing Bahamian culture.

From nursery rhymes to adventures under the sea, the toddlers kicked off Bay with energy, but it was refresher for kids developmental center who had story time for fans.

They won the preschool division.

Then it was on to the primary division where seven schools wowed the crowds with their advanced choreography, and music skills – celebrating our festivals, and even taking a stroll down Sesame Street.

The newly named Judith P Thompson, formally known as centerville primary took us back to our African roots that won the primary division.

The junior division did not disappoint.

While there were only three schools they all brought the thunder, with C.H. Reeves bringing the Lucayans back to life to win that division.

Next, the much anticipated all-age category saw a battle between St. Johns College, Lyford Cay International School and Jordan Prince William School.

The giants using “Toyz and more” to get them a close victory over lcis.

Finally as the clock struck ten, it was the heavyweight senior schools coming out the gate.

The older students giving us sweet treats, while taking us to a night at the ball.

But it was C.R. Walker’s trip around the world that won them the senior crown.
