Decision Reserved for Man Who Argued Seven Year Gun Sentence “Too Severe”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has reserved judgment in the case of man who was arrested with five guns, 11 rounds of ammunition and 2.5 pounds of marijuana after a high-speed chase.

Arizona Rolle, 28, is appealing his convictions for firearm possession with intent to supply, possession of ammunition and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Police found the contraband in a box in Rolle’s car after he led them on a high-speed chase that ended in Westridge on December 2, 2022.

Rolle was sentenced to seven years for the guns. He was ordered to serve a three year sentence for the ammunition that will be served at the same time, and fined $7,500 for the drugs.

Rolle’s lawyer David Cash has argued that the the seven-year sentence was too severe and that the conviction wasn’t supported by the evidence.

Prosecutor Darnell Dorsette argued that the convictions were safe and asked for the sentence to be upheld.
