UNITED STATES – Federal investigators charging former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison and former FTX Chief Technology Officer Gary Wang with defrauding investors in the crypto trading platform.

The two were top executives of Sam Bankman-Fried’s crypto trading empire.

It is also believed that Ellison and former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried had an intimate relationship.

In a video statement, U.S Attorney Damian Williams said the pair pleaded guilty to the charges and have agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

Bankman-Fried was extradited from the Bahamas Wednesday and appeared in a New York court today to face criminal charges.

Williams thanked The Bahamas for contributing to the assistance of Bankman-Fried’s return.
