NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The University of Mississippi Lady Rebels, coached by local hero Yolette “Coach Yo” McPhee McCuin won their first game of the Pink Flamingo Classic against the University of Dayton, 63-50.

Forward Tyia Singleton went to work in the paint scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, a whopping 9 of which came on the offensive end. Guard Marquesha Davis added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

The game was an emotional one for Coach “Yo”, the first Bahamian to helm a power-5 team in any sport as she relished a rare opportunity to coach in front of an adoring Bahamian crowd.

Bahamians have one more chance to watch Coach “Yo” make Bahamian history with her Rebels. They play against the University of Utah at Baha Mar on Wednesday at 7pm.
