Ole Miss Trounces Kentucky for Win 20

Coach “Yo” Has Back-To-Back 20-Win Seasons

OXFORD, MS, USA – Coach Yolett McPhee McCuin and her University of Mississippi Rebels delivered a bluegrass beatdown to the University Kentucky Wildcats for their 20th win, defeating Kentucky 74-52. 

The win was the Rebels’ 2nd straight and their 20th of the season, giving Coach Yo back-to-back 20-win seasons, something that hasn’t been accomplished in Oxford since coach Van Chancellor did it 94-95 and 95-96. 

The Rebels played asphyxiating defense, holding the Cats’ starters to a ghastly 4-18 shooting from the field. Overall the cats shot 26 percent from the field and 3-14 from the three-point line. 

Marquesha Davis led the Rebels with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Madison Scott added 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Ayanna Thompson had 12 points off the bench. Robyn Benton was the only Kentucky player in double figures with 15 points. 

Coach Yo and the Rebels have a tough weekend ahead of them as they take on 5th-ranked LSU on Friday and South Carolina, the top team in the country, on Sunday.
