Parents Call for Truth After Alleged School Incident

GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS – More on that story of an eight-year-old Grand Bahama girl left with a sprained arm in a cast following an alleged bullying incident at a primary school in West Grand Bahama.

As the story continued to unfold, some of the parents of the boys who were accused, also called for the truth and a proper investigation.

It started with, Sylvia Taylor, who claimed her daughter Divine, a second grader at Holmes Rock Primary, was injured by two older students in a second bullying incident at the school.

The child was treated at a clinic for a sprained arm.

Her mother said she met with school officials and police.

When contacted by Our News, the principal declined to comment, even though we understood that school administrators said they were addressing the incident.

Now, the parents of the boys accused said they were seeking answers too, alleging their children were being wrongly implicated, with their own claims that there may be more to the story.

They stressed this was not about placing blame, but about ensuring the truth comes to light.

They also claimed the matter was reported to police and urged a thorough and fair investigation.

Warren Hepburn, the parent of one of the boys involved, maintained his son’s innocence, claiming there was a rush to judgment.

His wife, Gabrielle Hepburn, said she heard differing accounts of the incident and believed it was important to consider the impact on all of the children involved.

Another parent, Philece Heild, also said she wants a fair process.
