Police Believe Dominican is Latest Homicide Victim

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An early morning shooting rocked the cable beach community leaving a Dominican citizen dead and has residents calling for more police presence in the area.

A stern warning from Police Press Liaison Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings to the people responsible for the death of a man believed to be from the Dominican Republic.

The incident took place shortly after 8am Friday morning.

Despite the tragic death, tourists and others continued their morning routine of exercising on the West Bay Street strip.

According to Skippings, the getaway car was found in bushes off Munnings Road hours later.

Anyone with any information that can assist police with their investigations should call 911, 919 or crime stoppers at 328-TIPS.
