The third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic brought a record number of deaths.

The morgue was pushed three times beyond its capacity, and restrictions kept many families from burying their loved ones and affording the send-off they wanted for their families.

Gail Adderley is a Bahamian living abroad, who says she wants Bahamians with relatives living in the United States to be prepared for the unfortunate eventuality of death.

That was a reality during the height of the pandemic, when morgues were filled.

She says it won’t replace insurance, but it can help to give some additional peace of mind.
