NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The candidate planning on going head-to-head with Bahamas Union of Teacher’s President Belinda Wilson in next month’s election says he has big plans if he wins. Dion Johnson says he plans to rebuild, restore and re-imagine The Bahamas Union of Teachers. The local head master is telling our Megan Shepherd that he believes he has what it takes to lead the union.

Headmaster at T.G. Glover primary school, Dion Johnson says he believes The Bahamas Union of Teachers is in dire need of restoration, rebuilding and re-imagining.

Johnson plans on taking long-time BUT President Belinda Wilson head on for the top spot at the teachers union.

Johnson says he wants members to know that he is willing to fight for the benefits they deserve. He says his vision is to bring the union into the 21st century.

Just under 2,500 members are expected to cast their vote on September 15th. Johnson says there are additional issues he plans to tackle.
