NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Gold award recipients of the Governor General Youth Awards, honored in a special ceremony, Thursday.

It was a night of celebrations and good laughs. As His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and Forfar, and Her Royal Highness Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Forfar presented honorees with their pins for accomplishing the gold level of GGYA.

His Royal Highness Prince Edward, congratulating the group on a stellar accomplishment.

Governor General Sir Cornelius Smith adding that nothing gives him more joy and satisfaction than recognizing the achievements of young people.

Alicia Owens was presented a special award by His Royal Highness Prince Edward for 26 years of dedicated service to the program. She says although this was not her first time being recognized, it was still an awesome experience.

Gold award recipient, Edwin Johnson now serves as the GGYA Unit Leader at CC Sweeting.

His Royal Highness Prince Edward is the fourth child of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
