Prosecutor Seek 30-Year Sentence After Man Convicted of Raping Grandchild

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors are seeking a sentence in the range of 25 to 30 years for a 62-year-old man who molested his granddaughter for almost five years, while the convict’s lawyer has recommended a sentence of nine years.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors are seeking a sentence in the range of 25 to 30 years for a 62-year-old man who molested his granddaughter for almost five years, while the convict’s lawyer has recommended a sentence of nine years.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson will give her sentencing decision on November 27.
The man was convicted of 22 counts of incest on October 30.

Jurors accepted that the man molested his granddaughter, whom he had reared from infancy, on multiple occasions between 2019 and 2024.
