NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors have closed their case against a man accused of a 2022 double shooting that left a man dead.

Donté Deveaux, also known as Dre, is accused of the May 2, 2022 murder of Emmanuel Brown and the attempted murder of Samuel Joseph.

The victims were hanging out at a car wash on Seventh Street, The Grove when Deveaux allegedly came and borrowed $10 from Joseph.

He returned a short time later and allegedly shot both men.

Joseph identified Deveaux as the shooter and Brown allegedly told a policeman that Deveaux had shot him before he died.

Deveaux has denied the allegations at his trial before Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez and a nine-member jury.
