NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The latest efforts by a fringe political party to rid New Providence of illegal housing structures and squatters getting mixed reaction.

Lincoln Bain, Coalition of Independents leader, was recently seen on social media and live feeds with his supporters, and in some cases property owners, entering shantytowns with documents in hand, threatening to displace them.

Some residents say they are happy that someone is agitating on their behalf, while others say they do not agree with the method Bain is taking, but they understand his frustration.
